Milwaukee Expands Cordless Lighting Options for Mechanics

The Milwaukee M12 Underbody Light looks like one of the most unique lighting tools we’ve yet seen. As the lead team behind the Pro Tool Innovation Awards, we can feel very confident making a statement like that. The Milwaukee M12 Underbody Light (2126) gives you hands-free, maneuverable illumination in tight quarters. Looking at the light, it really seems like an ideal solution for mechanics wanting some directional lighting from a source that stays conveniently out of the way. Mount it to the frame, a lift, or even underneath your hood. We can already imagine more than a dozen uses for this LED light.

What’s the Big Deal?

The Milwaukee M12 Underbody Light provides 1200 lumens of high-noon-like lighting for complete coverage in the shop or on the jobsite. It features dual joints that swivel up to 300º horizontally and 180º vertically. Like a rugged, battery-powered, articulating desk lamp, it gives you multiple orientations and pivot points to direct light exactly where you need it.

As we mentioned, the Milwaukee 2126 has a strong magnetic base. This lets you mount it to metal surfaces (like a lift or the underside of your car’s hood). Milwaukee also included more magnets in the 12-inch arm where you can stick nuts, bolts, and hose clamps for easy retrieval as you work.

The Milwaukee M12 Underbody Light runs on the brand’s 12V battery platform and provides 3 power modes, netting you somewhere in between 5 and 15 hours of runtime when using the kitted 4.0Ah XC battery.

Pricing

When the Milwaukee M12 Underbody Light debuts in December 2021, you’ll be able to pick it up as a bare tool (2126-20) or kitted with a 4Ah battery and a charger (2126-21XC). As a bare tool, it will run you $179 while the kit will retail for $259. Milwaukee backs the tool with a 5-year warranty and the LED for life.
