DeWalt Commercial Zero-Turn Mower Lineup for 2021

DeWalt Zero-Turn Mower Line Designed for Landscaping Work

The DeWalt line of gas-powered zero-turn mowers targets entry-level commercial landscapers. We’ve enjoyed reviewing the DeWalt battery-powered lawnmower, but their Zero-Turn lineup presents a whole different set of opportunities. The new DeWalt Zero-Turn mowers include four standard ZT models alongside two stand-on mowers. DeWalt looks to be paying attention to a market that clearly loves both formats.

DeWalt Z260 60 in. Commercial Zero-Turn Mower

Perhaps what DeWalt would consider the crown jewel in the commercial zero-turn mower lineup, the Z260 is designed to tackle between 4 to 10 acres with Pro precision. It features a reinforced fabricated 10-gauge steel 60-inch cutting deck. The mower closely resembles a Cub Cadet ZTX4 60 and, given that Stanley Black and Decker (the parent company of DeWalt) owns a large share of MTD, that makes a lot of sense. That’s a pretty solid platform!

The DeWalt Z260 features a 24 horsepower Kawasaki FS Series engine with a hydrostatic transmission that delivers up to 500 ft-lbs of output torque. It mows at a respectable 9 mph. Meanwhile, an impact-absorbing seat, wide foot pan, and adjustable lap bars compensate for users of nearly any height or build.

You can pick up the DeWalt Z260 60 in. Commercial Zero-Turn Mower for $7499 at Home Depot. It comes with a 4-year or 800-hour warranty. DeWalt also gives you access to the Pro Support Hub, a 1:1 service solution with product and maintenance information, live tech support, and parts and service locations.

DeWalt Z160 60 in. Commercial Zero-Turn Mower

Also available in the DeWalt Commercial Zero-Turn Mower lineup is the 60″ Z160 model. What’s the difference between this model and the Z260, you might be asking? The answer revolves around the engine. The Z260 and Z254 mowers both include Kawasaki’s FS Series engine, while the Z160 features the FR Series engine. This is Kawasaki’s high-end residential engine. It still supplies 24 hp and is designed for rigorous use on 4+ acres, but you’ll save yourself some money at the cash register.

The Z160 gives you an 8 mph top speed while maintaining the professional cut quality featured with the previously mentioned models. In fact, apart from the different engine and slightly smaller 22-inch rear wheels, this mower sports nearly identical features to the Z260. Most notably, DeWalt still features that impressive 1.5 x 3 in. tubular steel frame and 10-gauge fabricated steel deck. You also get the electronic startup and PTO and a 17-position cut height adjustment, along with the same seat.

You can purchase the DeWalt Z160 60 in. Commercial Zero-Turn Mower from Home Depot. It retails for $6499, and it comes with a 4-year or 600-hour warranty. You also get access to DeWalt’s Pro Support Hub.

DeWalt Z148 48 in. Commercial Zero-Turn Mower

The smallest mower in the DeWalt Commercial Zero-Turn line, the Z148 features all the bells and whistles of the Z160, but with a space-saving 48 in. cutting deck. The Z148 comes with Kawasaki’s 23 hp FR Series 726cc engine that’s designed specifically for spaces between 2 and 4 acres.

The rest of the feature set ought to sound pretty familiar. It has the electronic startup and PTO, dial-in cut height adjustment, adjustable lap bars, and extra-wide foot pan that we’ve seen on the other models. We also get the same durable frame and fabricated deck.

And like the other models, you get the enrollment into the Pro Support Hub program, as well as the 4-year/600-hour warranty. It retails for $5999, and you can find it at Home Depot.

DeWalt X554 54 in. Stand-On Commercial Zero-Turn Mower

DeWalt tells us that the X554 Stand-On Zero-Turn Mower is designed specifically for demanding landscapers. With its stand-on design, you can hop on and off quickly to move any obstruction without dropping your efficiency levels. It also saves you considerable space on the trailer. Larger stand-on mowers have recently been gaining in popularity for this reason alone.

The X554 features a Kawasaki FT730v EFI Series 726cc engine that provides 26 hp. This mower showcases an electronic throttle and a 12cc Hydro Gear pump and Parker Wheel motor transmissions for precise control through turns.

A heavy-duty steel frame and premium wheel pumps provide the mower with increased durability, while the largest-in-class 24″ wheels can tackle curbs and hilly terrain.

The DeWalt X554 runs around $9499 at Home Depot and comes with the Pro Support Hub enrollment and a 2-year/no hour warranty.

DeWalt X548 48 in. Commercial Stand-On Zero-Turn Mower

Like a marginally shrunk-down version of the X554, the DeWalt X548 Stand-On Zero-Turn Mower works great for landscapers looking for a more nimble and narrow mower that can get into places a 60-inch deck simply can’t access.

It features the same engine as the larger model, so you’re getting the same power and performance, but with a smaller frame that can fit more easily through fence gates and tighter spots. The convenience features look the same as well, so you’ll have a comfortable time hopping on and off, jumping curbs, and adjusting the cut height on the fly.

The DeWalt X548 retails for $8999 at Home Depot, and it comes with the Pro Support Hub enrollment and a 2-year/no hour warranty.
