Greenworks Pro 60V Hybrid Shop Vacuum Review

Greenworks Hybrid Shop Vacuum Tackles Portable Cleanup Whether There’s an Outlet or Not

Whether your priority is keeping up your shop, cleaning your car, or tidying up a CAT front end loader, nearly everyone needs a wet/dry vac at some point. Our friend Eli Mosley invited us out to the ranch once he discovered we had the Greenworks Pro 60V Hybrid Shop Vacuum.

Pros

  • Plug into an AC outlet or use batteries for power
  • Excellent suction compared to other cordless vacs
  • Cleans up wet or dry messes
  • Generous drain port

Cons

Greenworks Pro 60V Hybrid Shop Vacuum Performance

Eli had a little issue with a CAT front end loader and a cordless vac is exactly what he needed. The glass broke out of one of the windows and he needed to get the interior of the cab cleaned up. The loader was already back at the barn, so we didn’t really need cordless convenience, but it was a nice bonus.

The other issue was the glass that was still out in the pasture and a potential danger to the cattle. We could have raked and shoveled the dirt into a wheelbarrow. However, a cordless vac had the potential to handle the cleanup with a lot less effort.

Greenworks specs this vac at 19 kPa, or 36 inches of water lift. Flipping hose over to the exhaust, you can expect 90 CFM of airflow. For our purposes, that was plenty to clean the glass out of the cab and the field. With a 9-gallon capacity, there was more than enough containment to hit both without having to stop and dump, even with the extra pasture soil.

After using it for a while, we believe this is a good fit for targeting hard surfaces, spot shop cleanup, and makes a decent dust extractor if you want to adapt it to fit your table saw or miter saw. It’s not as helpful as higher CFM models when you’re trying to vacuum the entire shop floor or deep clean carpet.

Runtime

This vac only has one speed, so there’s no playing games with claiming runtimes based on low power performance. We decided to run with a pair of 4.0Ah batteries and the brushed motor ran continuously for 33 minutes, 6 seconds. For the kind of vehicle cleanup we do, that’s plenty. For some of the bigger jobs in the shop and around the house, it’s easy enough to find an outlet.

Greenworks Pro 60V Hybrid Shop Vacuum Design Notes

Accessories

In addition to the 7-foot long, 1 7/8-inch diameter flexible hose, you also get two extension wands, a crevice tool, utility nozzle, and a washable filter.

Drainage

Emptying a fully-load canister full of water can be a pain, so we really like that Greenworks put a drain plug on this vac. It’s a pretty generous one, too, and the opening is large enough to drain the tank quickly.

Additional Features

  • 360° casters
  • Onboard accessory storage

Greenworks Pro 60V Hybrid Shop Vacuum Price

You can pick up the Greenworks cordless vacuum direct from Greenworks’ website for $129.99 as a bare tool. There are no kit options at the moment.

The Bottom Line

Greenworks’ cordless operation is the big highlight of this shop vac and we’re pleased with the performance we’re seeing from it. There’s a premium for having the capability, of course, so your greatest benefit comes if you have a need for cordless operation. If that sounds like you, go ahead and grab it. We’d let you borrow ours, but Eli still hasn’t given it back to us yet.
