Dewalt has a new larger-scale modular tool box system, ToughSystem 2.0 DXL, featuring a 30-inch width.
The Dewalt ToughSystem DXL tool box system is launching with 4 products – 2 styles of drawers, a 4-wheel dolly, and a work top, plus two tower combinations.

Dewalt ToughSystem DXL drawer tool boxes feature aluminum carry handles on the sides, as well as metal rails that look to fit Dewalt’s new Workshop storage system accessories.
Looking at the tops of the tool boxes, the size becomes apparent. These new ToughSystem 2.0 DXL tool boxes look deep enough to fit other ToughSystem 2.0 system components.
We’re waiting for Dewalt to confirm this, but the placement of the latches is very convincing.
The 2-drawer tool box, DWST08520, has a total load capacity of 55 lbs (27.5 lbs per drawer).
Both sizes of drawer tool boxes have ball bearing slides and an automatic quick-latching mechanism.
Both drawers come with removable dividers.
Dewalt also says that their drawers can fit ToughSystem 2.0 tool trays, foam inserts, and tool sets, but it’s not yet clear if they’re referring to their both of their DXL tool boxes, or just the deep drawer.
The deep drawer tool box, DWST08510, has just one drawer for storing bulkier tools and supplies.
It too has removable dividers.
A metal lock bar swings down for securing the tool box contents. From the product images, it looks like the 2-drawer tool box has the same feature.
The ToughSystem DXL 4-wheel cart, DWST08530, has a 440 lb load capacity.
There’s a carrying handle at the front, and latches to fit ToughSystem DXL components and presumably other ToughSystem 2.0 tool boxes and accessories.
The ToughSystem DXL dolly has swiveling “tough-terrain” wheels. Dewalt doesn’t specify the caster wheel size, but you can get a sense for their size.
Taking a closer look, they’re plate casters, with 4 mounting points. This is different from how other systems’ cart and dolly casters are installed.
Looking at the front, it’s apparent that all of the swivel casters have locking levers.
Lastly, here’s the new Dewalt ToughSystem DXL 30″ worktop, DWST08550.
There are slots at the sides for hanging power tools and accessories, cup holders, integrated rulers, and also a large side handle. It has a load capacity of 88 lbs.
The 5-in-1 tower combo comes with 2x DXL deep drawer tool boxes, 1x 2-drawer tool box, a dolly, and a work top.
Pricing details aren’t available yet, and the only ETA we were given so far is that the system is “coming soon.”
