Metabo 18V Circular Saw Offers Jobsite Convenience with Guide Rail Compatibility
With a set of short guide rails, you can make smooth and accurate bevel and miter cuts using just your circular saw. Longer rails let you replace a circular saw when cutting sheet goods. A good track-capable circular saw can cut down on the number of tools you need to bring to the jobsite. Metabo designed the KS 18 LTX 66 BL cordless 6 1/2-inch circular saw for the construction site. It has a base plate that lets it work with standard FS (Festool-style) guide rail systems.

The Metabo 18V Cordless 6 1/2-Inch Circular Saw features an aluminum base plate that locks into guide rails like the upcoming KFS rail system. According to Metabo, these guide rails offer a mobile, compact solution for accurate angles on chop cuts and angular cuts up to 60º. The rails feature a quick closure to easily couple the circular saw and an integrated hold-back mechanism that moves the saw back to your starting position after the cut. They work very similarly to Festool HK 55 carpentry saws.
Along with its overall compatibility with guide rails, the Metabo KS 18 LTX 66 BL features a fast brake for safety. It is also compatible with a variety of dust extractors. You can even implement Metabo’s CordlessControl to automatically switch the connected vacuum on and off by firing up the saw.

We expect the Metabo Cordless 6 1/4-Inch Circular Saw to retail for around $469 for the bare tool. The rail can add $72 (FS 80) or $115 (FS 160) to the price, plus you need a battery and charger if you don’t already have that covered.
