Leatherman sent over a pullover hoodie sweatshirt for review, and I’ve been wearing it a bit more now that it’s getting colder.
No, there’s nothing multi-functional about Leatherman’s sweatshirts, at least not more so than other hoodies. But there is something especially noteworthy, however – they’re made in the USA using US-sourced materials.
Leatherman says that the fabric knit is made in Clover, SC, the hardware is made in the USA, and the sweatshirts are made in Asheboro, NC.
- 13 oz heavyweight fleece
- Combed ringspun cottton
- Ribbed knit collars and cuffs
- Heather Gray: 75% cotton. 25% polyester
- Black: 85% cotton, 15% polyester
- Reinforced stitching
- “Kangaroo-style” pockets
The Leatherman sweatshirt fits well, and seems very well-made, from the fabric itself to the hood drawcords and hanging loop.
The only thing that held me back from sharing about these Leatherman hoodies sooner was the price – $95 seemed steep.
Good news – or bad depending on how you look at it – Leatherman has the hoodies on “final sale” for 50% off. The style shown above is available in L and XL sizes, with the black hoodies already having sold out.
Final sale means no refunds or exchanges, and so make sure you get your sizing right.
Leatherman also has a 50% “final sale” discount on their short sleeve t-shirts, now priced at $17.50. Their description of the t-shirt being made with heavyweight jersey material is accurate – this is a sturdy-feeling t-shirt (which is good or bad depending on your preferences).
The t-shirt with PST multi-tool graphic is available in gray, black, and yellow, with a little better sizing availability than the sweatshirts.
Black and yellow t-shirts are made from 100% cotton, and heather gray is made from 90% cotton and 10% polyester.
Again, Final Sale means no refunds or exchanges.
This seems like a “now or never” type of situation. Would I have paid full price for Leatherman’s sweatshirts or t-shirts? They feel strong, durable, and comfortable, but the original pricing seemed too hard to swallow or recommend. Now at half-off, they’re more affordable, especially for ardent fans of the brand. If you’re into the designs and USA-made construction, get one while you can.
Leatherman offers free shipping on $75+. So… maybe it’s a good idea to check out their multi-tools, folding knives, accessories (which can be hard to find via retailers), or the new Raptor scissors while you’re at it.
